Poly-Scientific Awards $4,500 in
Educational Grants to Local Schools

Poly-Scientific, a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman, has awarded $4,500 in educational grants to several local (Blacksburg, VA) schools. These awards for local students are part of a continuing program sponsored by the company for the support and enhancement of education. Ernie Wade, General Manager, presented $1,500 each to representatives from three local schools. This year's winners are Auburn Elementary School, Blacksburg High School and Harding Elementary School.

Nominations for the annual educational assistance awards are made from over 700 employees of Poly-Scientific at its two Blacksburg, VA locations. This year three winners were selected for the grants. Employees who developed winning proposals included Danny Epperly (Auburn Elementary), Gene and Janet Link (Blacksburg High School) and Keith Wood (Harding Elementary).

The company has awarded the educational support grants each year since 1991 to local schools. The funds have been utilized for such projects as technology advancements, improved reading programs, research projects and other educational activities. The program provides assistance at the level where it has a direct impact on students in primary and secondary schools. Over $40,000 has been awarded to local schools since the initiation of the program.
