Solenoids

The Moog Components Group solenoid line, formerly known as SR Engineering, has been solving problems for over 40 years. We are experts at designing solenoid solutions for complex actuation requirements at Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and many other aerospace system manufacturers. Our reputation is built on providing solenoid actuators that survive harsh environments and are reliable for years beyond normal expectations. Often, as the sole-source provider, we offer innovations and customer support not found anywhere else.

Slip Rings

Moog Components Group is the largest slip ring (electromechanical interface for transmitting power/data from a stationary to a rotating device) manufacturer in the world. We have developed over 6,000 slip ring designs many of which are available for use in their existing configuration, or can be modified to meet specific requirements. New designs can be created to meet the most demanding specifications. We also manufacture specialty slip rings and fiber optic rotary joints or can create new designs to meet specific requirements for demanding environments. Our slip rings are currently utilized in a variety of rotation applications including industrial and medical equipment, aircraft, spacecraft, ground-based vehicles, ships, instrument-ation and radar platforms.

Resolvers & Synchros

Our brushless resolvers are economical, highly accurate motion feedback sensors that can be used to provide position and velocity information for closed-loop control, as well as brushless DC motor commutation. They contain no internal electronics or optics and are unaffected by heat, electrical noise, shock and vibration. Our size 11 digital resolver is a compact, low-cost angular position transducer with DC input and digital output. No external circuitry is required - simply energize with +5 vdc and obtain 12-bit serial data for direct computer interface, or the A Quad B and North Marker outputs of an incremental encoder.

Actuators

Moog Components Group offers high technology and utility electromechanical actuators for commercial and aerospace applications. The high tech models use high performance rare earth magnet brushless DC motors, planetary gears, modulated smart servo amplifiers and multi-speed resolvers and perform in missile steering fins, gimballed assemblies and aircraft. Utility actuators use brush-type DC motors, analog amplifiers, spur gears and potentiometers as feedback devices in UAVs, RPVs and utility aircraft applications. We provide total in-house design, engineering and manufacturing.

Integrated Mechanism

Moog Components Group's unique offering of motion components and fiber optic products allows us to integrate these products into one mechanism. Our integrated assemblies range from simple combinations of slip rings and resolvers to sophisticated electro- mechanical assemblies including the motor, drive electronics, fiber optic rotary joints, hydraulic and pneumatic swivels and RF rotary joints. We also offer fully integrated actuators with precision gearing, clutches, brakes and closed-loop control electronics.
