Fiber Optic Multiplexers
The 3U-VME Prizm Multiplexer system utilizes an industry standard VME backplane approach with the interface modules incorporated in any of our series of commercial-off-the-shelf 19 inch rack configurations.  This approach enables a truly “plug and play” stem that can be custom configured to meet any requirement and then easily reconfigured as necessary in the field.  In addition, all products can be configured in a smaller PC/104 based system.

Fiber Optic Rotary Joints and Slip Rings

Both singlemode and multimode FORJs in one and 7 pass models are available.  The 7-channel FORJ can be configured for any combination of singlemode or multimode passes.  Optical loss is typically less than 2.5 dB for all multimode passes.  This FORJ is also available in a pressure compensation version, for subsea applications.  The single channel FORJ is packaged for use in harsh environments.

Subsea Technologies

As a
leader in subsea fiber optic telemetry, Prizm’s first system level design was built specifically to meet the needs of the subsea ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) industry.  Now, Prizm products are over the world in ROVs for exploration, research, recovery, oil platform maintenance, and telecommunications cable laying and repair.

The legacy Video-3 platform continues to set the standard in mid-size to large work class ROVs, and the MiniMux product provides small ROV manufacturers with a compact, single-board solution.  Today, we also provide high bandwidth, fiber optic solutions for additional subsea systems, including oil well head level control, data logging and communications, as well as other oil industry applications.

Terrestrial Telemetry
In a dynamic environment, robotic systems continue to face new challenges.  We are committed to work together with our customer to meet these challenges through innovative telemetry solutions for robotic systems.

Our telemetry systems provide the necessary real-time, high quality video, voice and data vital for ensuring the effectiveness of each robotic system.  We have employed proven multiplexer technology to provide high speed communications, such as 10/100 Ethernet, over either fiber optic or wireless links.

Airborne Telemetry
Whether at 10,000 feet below the ocean’s surface or 15,000 feet above the earth, many of the challenges are the same - tether tension, payload and telemetry weight, amount of data required.  With years of experience in subsea applications, we can help provide fiber optic and wireless telemetry solutions for aerostats, balloons, UAVs.

• Capabilities
Fiber
We offer fiber optic modems and multiplexer systems, a variety of standard interfaces, including video (NTSC, PAL, Y/C, RGB, S Video, etc.) data (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and/or various custom protocols with rates up to 10 Mbps) Ethernet, sonar, hydrophone, radar and variety of custom interfaces.

Custom
If one of our standard Prizm products does not match your requirements, we can provide an innovative, custom solution.  Our engineers work together with your development staff to provide just the right product.
